Early morning murder in St. Albans

From the Daily News:

Detectives are trying to unravel a puzzling, pre-dawn homicide in Queens - a 21-year-old woman shot to death on a quiet, tree-lined block, police said.

The unidentified victim was shot three times on 202nd St. in St. Albans about 3:30 a.m. Monday. She was hit twice in the torso and once in the left leg, and was pronounced dead at Franklin Hospital, police said.

Several shell casings were found scattered in a line down the street. Investigators are trying to piece together why the young woman was slain, police officials said. It was unclear if there were any witnesses to the crime, and neighbors said nothing seemed amiss before the gunfire.
