When a house is not a home

"Check out this on the DOB website:

144-11 77 Avenue

After numerous stop work orders and accumulating more than $25,000 in

When the DOB inspector entered the almost completed building, the

The application states that it is to be a 'SINAGOGA'. Do they actual mean a Synagogue?

Locking the inspector in is a very serious crime, definitely false arrest and false imprisonment. Maybe kidnapping too (after all, he wanted "consideration" for release, i.e. a falsified report, a lawyer would know more.)

A friend of mine had his mother imprisoned in a similar fashion when storekeepers who suspected her of shoplifting held her for several hours without calling the police. A large financial settlement to the "shoplifter" ensued.

Time to jug someone. The Tombs looks nice this time of year.

Why did they want to arrest the developer for nonpayment of $25,000?

The owner of 82-46 166 Street has over $30,000 in ECB fines. Will they arrest him, too??

When a homeowner tries to turn his home into a synagogue, the DOB lays down the law, but why aren't owners of illegal conversions treated with the same amount of enforcement?
