LIC too expensive for ballet storage

The American Ballet Theatre last week relocated its warehouse facilities from Long Island City to a 71,000-square-foot space in Secaucus, N.J., providing a larger and less expensive space for its expanding number of costumes and production sets.

Officials at ABT, based at 890 Broadway, between 19th and 20th streets in Manhattan, said they wanted to upgrade to a larger space when the company's LIC lease came up for renewal.

ABT warehouse moves from LIC to NJ

ABT will pay $6.50 a square foot for the new facility, less than the company paid for its 50,000-square-foot Long Island City warehouse. Asking prices for new warehouse space in LIC are running about $12 a square foot...

Hey, no problem. A shape up facility for the 'guest workers' or yet another program for the targeted tweeded.

Goodwill? Phoenix House? Bringing back homeless shelters?

Who needs manufacturing warehouses. Its the human ones that vote!

Go figure - I am sure there is comparable space in LIC - they did not look (broker) that is. They went straight to Hartz Mountain - king of Seacacus property owner-developers.
