At the Junction of Corona and crap

I had always been kind of intrigued by this building on Junction Boulevard near Corona Avenue. The archway hinted at a past that was a little more exciting than a "heel alignment" place. But - notice the small sign on the building next door, which says "we buy land and house"...
Alas, there is no more time to investigate as it has been converted into a giant crap pile. Each individual address contains 4 dwelling units.

If I'm not mistaken, the Junction Boulevard-Corona Avenue venue was where the Hindenburg was originally garaged.

It looks like it was a plain, graffiti-riddled box of a building. No great loss.

Yes what replaced it is much better.

It looks like we are in the cold war revival period of American architecture. At least the old building had flair.

That building looked to be a trolly barn or a power plant.

It was something important as a lot of work went into it.

Queens walks around like someone who had its memory taken away - the better to take advantage of it.

I would take its predecessor anytime! It was built with precision.

Note the Asian English usage .....
"We buy land and house".

Koreans are moving into Corona.

Tommy Huang is also building there
(G-d help the residents) !

Never made it to someone's little 'list.'

So it doesn't exist.

Remember, in Queens the only thing that matters is WHO, not WHAT.

How many years do we have to wait to landmark those dragon boat docks, and declare Main St and 82nd Street and Liberty Avenue historic districts?
